Who was He? A Poet.

Date and Place of Birth: Earl fifteenth Century circa 1405. Possibly of Welsh extraction but there is some evidence he was Sir Thomas Malory of Newbold Revel, Warwickshire.

Family Background: Probably a Knight and therefore a member of the minor gentry.

Education: Probably from local clerics and members of his family.

Chronology:

1450's: Committed a long list of crimes including burglary, rape, attempting to attack the Duke of Buckingham and sheep rustling. Twice elected to Parliament.

1460's: Pardoned by King Henry V1 on at least one occasion but was also excluded from pardon by both King Henry V1 and Edward 1V.

Written Works:

  • 1470: “L' Morte D'Arthur”. (possibly written whilst the author was in prison).
